I can get honey at the grocery store for a lot less money.
Please remember that a lot of the mass marketed honeys are imported from overseas. in order to hide that fact, they have been ultra-filtered to remove the propolis and pollens native to that region thus removing the beneficial components. A lot of them have also been combined with corn syrup to stretch it further and increase profits. Raw Honey directly from individual beekeepers still contain those extra nutrients because they are bottled direct from the hive. Almost all local beekeepers never turn a profit. The costs associated with maintaining healthy productive bees far outweighs the money they receive from honey sales.
